"Seasons Greetings & Happy Holidays"

2009/2010
Wishing You and Yours Safe & Happy Holidays

In the spirit of goodwill and comfortable in the knowledge that it’s the thought that counts, I have opted out of commercial greeting cards this year due to the pressures of economic uncertainty, ecological malfeasance and personal security.

In sending a monochromatic printed page I was content to bestow upon the recipients my best wishes for a healthy, happy and prosperous New Year.

Those recipients familiar with Nano Molecular Technology may be aware that the colored dyes used in inks and paints can be infused with various and sundry advanced capabilities. It is common knowledge that the colored ink used in Greeting Cards can be manufactured and applied so as to function as a microphone and short range transmitter.

This simple greeting is my attempt to limit eavesdropping and not to allow the reactionary forces of state control into the homes of my friends. I refuse to be an unwitting accomplice to the misdirected efforts of Government Security Departments as they stumble around applying their particular interpretation of The Patriot Act.

I hoped that this communique’ finds my friends happy and well.

No, I have not lost my mind. Since becoming an adult, you must have known somewhere in your heart of hearts that all the Winter Solstice Holidays, Chanukah, Christmas, Kwanzaa and Festivus have at the very least evolved into commercial versions of what began as ancient fertility celebrations and rights of passage.

What you may not have known is that the celebrations have been coopted, taken over by the tentacles of Governmental Bureaucracy.

There are clues everywhere. Be On Guard. Be Alert. Be Aware.
Nowadays, even Santa Claus is working for Homeland Security.

A Happy & Healthy To ALL

Be Well, Be Prosperous

Love,

Danny Beyer

"Santa Claus Is Comin' To Town"
(Santa is a Patriot Act Administrator for Homeland Security)

You better watch out
You better not cry
You better not pout
I'm telling you why
Santa Claus is coming to town
Santa Claus is coming to town
Santa Claus is coming to town

He's making a list,
Checking it twice;
Gonna find out who's naughty or nice.
Santa Claus is coming to town
Santa Claus is coming to town
Santa Claus is coming to town

He sees you when you're sleeping
He knows when you're awake
He knows if you've been bad or good
So be good for goodness sake

With little tin horns and little toy drums
Rooty toot toots and rummy tum tums
Santa Claus is coming to town
Santa Claus is coming to town
Santa Claus is coming to town

He sees you when you're sleeping
He knows when you're awake
He knows if you've been bad or good
So be good for goodness sake
Goodness sake

You better watch out
You better not cry
You better not pout
I'm telling you why
Santa Claus is coming to town
Santa Claus is coming to town
Santa Claus is coming
Santa Claus is coming
Santa Claus is coming to town

EXTRA:
Avatar is Pantheistic Escapism at its Finest
By Dan Beyer

We have met the enemy and they are us. On those occasions when I’m feeling down on the nature of existence and distraught about being caught in the American Cultural Milieu, I long to reside elsewhere. But really, there is nowhere else better. I have examined the planets offerings, everywhere from the Nordic Countries to the South Pacific island nations and there is no panacea. True utopian elements can be found in certain societies but none contain a critical mass to make permanent relocation desirable, none quite fit the bill of my enlightened imagination.

Please save me I don’t want to be part of a totalitarian society that permits Extraordinary rendition and the atrocities of Abu Ghraib. I don’t want to be part of a society without universal healthcare or a society that allows or even encourages an overclass of executives and entire industries to suck resources out of the system so as to leave the masses in detriment. I don’t want to be one of us. But where else to go?

In my escapist quest for solace I first came across the GAIA concept reading Asimov’s Foundation Series of epic intergalactic adventures. James Cameron’s “Avatar” reintroduces the Gaia concept. Gaia as I understand it, is an ecological hypothesis proposing that the biosphere and the physical components of a planet are interconnected (atmosphere, cryosphere, hydrosphere, lithosphere, flora and fauna) that they are closely integrated to form a complex interacting system that maintains the climatic and biogeochemical conditions in a preferred homeostasis. The hypothesis is frequently described as viewing the Planet as a single organism being influenced by a single overmind of sorts. A network of Galactic proportions. Pantheistic Shinto meets American Indian folklore…This is the secret of Avatar. As green a story as there is….

It seems to me that I’ve seen several films lately with the same recurring revolutionary theme, presenting capitalist agenda and the associated military projection towards inequitable goals. . Avatar’s premise is not entirely new. It’s simply the best presented, most succinct script of its type to date. It is an antiwar statement. Combining this with elements of Dances with Wolves, David Lynch’s Dune, Apocalypse Now, Last of the Dogmen, A Man Called Horse and I’m sure a host of other celluloid entertainments that I’m leaving out, Avatar is certainly best of breed, if not the best film ever offered to the public. This is escapism at its finest. Beyond visually stunning, the subtly applied 3D version provided alien dandelion fronds and other floating jungle particulate drifting slowly above the seat directly in front of me and through to the screen and beyond. The best 3D yet and I’m a habitue’ of Imax.

Although this is adult film it is simultaneously the stuff of fantasy and children as young as 5 years of age were in the theater enjoying the film along with the rest of us. If you would bring your child to see Dances With Wolves you can feel comfortable allowing them to view Dances With Wolves in Outer Space or “Avatar”. Simply a brand new paradigm in Visually Stunning

We are the Alien Invasion
