"Don't be Scared of Complexity"

Certain things seem so complex as to be daunting. Tech things in particular carry this dynamic. Quite often the apparent complexity consists of extraordinary quantities of simple repetitive tasks. Decades ago I was fascinated to learn to operate a large audio mixing console. I discovered that having mastered the operation of a single channel you'd pretty much mastered them all. The many channels of knobs, dials and buttons were just replicating the same task over and over again, allowing for independent adjustments on many different channels of sound. The same seems true of digital applications and the seemingly infinite adjustment of preferences allowed in certain instances. This phenomena appears now and again throughout the universe of our existence. Like the unified field theory, It's nothing to be scared of. Great things are coming. I for one will take a deep breath and examine them closely before making a judgment as to my appreciation of the new and revolutionary.
